ABOUT US
This website aims to support place-based learning which is a focus of Pt Lonsdale and Queenscliff Primary Schools. It is designed to promote learning that draws on the unique environment, culture and history of the Borough of Queenscliffe. It also aims to be a unique internet site that brings together information about the Borough that will help residents and visitors alike understand more about our unique environment and history. |
GUARDIANS OF THE BOROUGH
This initiative helps students learn to take care of the world in which they live by taking action in their own community. It invites students to become informed 'guardians of' and 'ambassadors for' the Borough by becoming knowledgeable about their environs, its rich history and the people who comprise their community. |
CONNECT TO COMMUNITY
This year's focus will include community stories, Wada Wurrung culture and connections to the environment, history and sustainability. Our first initiative is the creation of a 'community poem' celebrating our love of the Borough. To date we have written several stanzas with contributions from Pt Lonsdasle and Queenscliff school students and community contributions from local businesses, community groups and individuals. For a glimpse of how our poem look so far, please click on the tab at the top of this page. We look forward to the poem growing as more community members contribute and help us to weave together the individual threads of this poem that celebrates the place where we live. If you would like to contribute a rhyming couplet about the Borough, please download the form below or email [email protected]
